We have reported that The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir will be performing on Monday at the Inauguration.  However, when you think about 300 performers and the logistics that go into the planning of their trip, your head may start to spin, especially in the meal planning portion of the itinerary.  Here is where fellow Brooklynite, Chef Chris from the Brooklyn Commune, swoops in to save the day!

After Hurricane Sandy, Chef Chris joined forces with Mercy Chefs, a Virginia based organization that feeds large groups of people during times of disaster.   He aided the organization in feeding over 6,000 devastated New Yorkers.  His efforts did not go unnoticed or unappreciated by the Mercy Chefs organizers.

When the logistics for the Brooklyn Tabernacle choir arose, Mercy Chefs stepped forward to offer their services and asked Chef Chris to join them once again.  They fed the group all weekend, and by fed, we mean spoiled!  Chef Chris is the former executive chef for CNN, he has competed on the Food Network show, “Chopped” and he serves up delicious, creative comfort food daily at his restaurant, The Brooklyn Commune.  This menu for the choir is sure to please!  The menu features items such as beef tips, roasted chicken and savory desserts..

Good luck to Chef Chris and The Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir!  Happy Inauguration!
