Brooklyn Songwriters Win Oscar for “Frozen”

frozenKristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, of Park Slope, are the proud owners of a shiny gold Oscar for their song, “Let it Go” from Disney’s newest hit, “Frozen”.  The songwriters of the film claimed that Prospect Park was the source of their winter wonderland inspiration.  Robert has already won a slew of Tony’s, an Emmy and a Grammy, so this now makes him an EGOT winner, the most distinguished honor in the musical industry.  Only 13 other people in history have earned this title.  In a rhyming, heart-felt acceptance speech, they brought energy to the stage.  They thanked their team and family, and at one point shouted, “Brooklyn!”  Congratulations Kristen and Robert!
