Memorial Day is here! And that means… the official start of summer, baby! From outdoor movies, to music in the park, to stuffing ourselves with street vendor eats, there is literally something for everyone to enjoy in Brooklyn this summer. We are blocking off 6 Must Attend Festivals on our calendars this year, because we do not want to miss out on these. We suggest you do the same, so here is our list of the “6 Must Attend” Brooklyn festivals of 2013:
For the Movie Lovers:
Hosted by acclaimed actor, producer, director, and screenwriter Liev Schreiber on Saturday, June 22nd in Prospect Park. This festival will feature music, food, art installations and of course, a lineup of great short films that will be screened and judged live by an esteemed panel of industry and celebrity judges.
The Brooklyn Film Festival (BFF), is an International, competitive festival. BFF mission is to provide a public forum in Brooklyn in order to advance public interest in films and the independent production of films. To draw worldwide attention to Brooklyn as a center for cinema. http://www.brooklynfilmfestival.org/about/
For the Movers and Shakers:
The Brooklyn equivalent to SxSW, this festival has three parts- music, film and an entrepreneurial conference. Over 350 bands will perform in Williamsburg and Greenpoint. Brooklyn premiere films as well as documentaries and narratives will be screening at four different Williamsburg venues this year. The NExT portion of the conference features a solid lineup of entrepreneur speakers, including those from tech companies like Thrillist, Buzzfeed, Wintercheck, and so many more!
