Even if you are not undergoing the excitement of running the 13 invigorating miles on Saturday morning, it doesn’t mean you can’t join in the fun for half marathon weekend! The New York Road Runners are hosting a pre-party tomorrow, May 16th, from 10am through 9pm at Pier 2 in Brooklyn Bridge Park. The pre-party includes a beer garden, live music, and food trucks. The recently opened Pier 2 is a huge open space that will normally function as a recreational park, featuring basketball courts, bocce courts, shuffleboard, a fitness center, and a skating rink. The 34th annual Brooklyn Half Marathon will be held this Saturday the 17th starting at 7am. Starting in Prospect Park, the runners will loop around Brooklyn Museum, Grand Army Plaza, and run down Ocean Parkway to finish at Coney Island. There will be live music and dj’s stationed at every mile marker, so it make for a very fun spectator event!
