Make a big splash into 2014 with the Polar Bear Club of Coney Island and Camp Sunshine!  Take the plunge into the Atlantic Ocean to support Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life threatening illnesses and their families.  The Coney Island Polar Bear Club is the oldest winter swim organization in the country.  Swim time starts at 1pm sharp at The Boardwalk and Stillwell Avenue.  The club encourages participants to bring warm clothes, surf boots/old sneakers, dry towels and of course their cameras!  Participants and observers are also encouraged to donate to Camp Sunshine ($20 is the suggested amount).  If a participant raises over $100 in donations to Camp Sunshine, they will receive a “Freezin’ for a Reason” limited edition T-Shirt.  To register, or to learn more about the event and organization, click here- http://www.polarbearclub.org/
