Brooklyn Fashion Week(end) 2013

From eco-friendly fashion to haute looks for your pup to handbags, Brooklyn Fashion Weekend has something for everyone. The event, established by the Brooklyn Style Foundation, is spread throughout four days from February 28 to March 3, where the mantra to “honor the masters and celebrate the new” feeds an atmosphere of innovation, creation and inspiration.

We were there to capture all of the glamour on opening night.  Luis Valenzuela, who was recently awarded “Hero Young Social Entrepreneur” by Sustainatopia, dazzled audiences with his gorgeous EcoArtFashion collection. The models faces were caged, but their beauty could not be contained!  We loved their fabulous feather headpieces, it added a bit of funk to his elegant and avant garde pieces.  Following Luis was Anthony Rubio’s dog couture collection, see photos below- we could not get enough of their jeweled, fashion fur-ward outfits!  To view a complete list of featured designers, click here- http://bkfashionweekend.com/ss2013-featured-designers/

There is still time to purchase tickets for the closing event on Sunday night.  For just under $40, a BKFW pass is quite the steal. Located in Industry City at Bush terminal, cool oozes from the event’s attendees, designers and organizers.  Don’t miss out on the chance to drink some bubbly, view some up and comers and witness fashion at its finest!
