Looking for a cool, new after school program for your Tarantino-in-training? Introducing Automatic Studios, a new filmmaking school for kids in DUMBO.

Automatic Studios is the brainchild of Che Chisholm and Peter Vietro-Hannum, whose movie credits include “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” and “The Savages.” The recently-launched studio now offers MOVIE ARTS Afterschool Classes for both Elementary (Grades 3-5) and Middle School (Grades 6-8) students.

During the 8 week-long courses, which are held at the Made in NY Media Center, students learn all aspects of the moviemaking process, from Storytelling through Postproduction. As part of the course, students work together to make a short movie, which is then screened at the center at the end of the course.

In addition, Automatic Studios also offers MOVIE ARTS Parties and Camps. Week-long summer camps begin the week of June 16th and run through the week of August 11th. Check out Automatic Studios’ website for more information or to register: theautomaticstudios.com.
