The 20th Annual Red Hook Fest (May 30-June 1, 2013).
Rebuild, Restore, Rebirth: Resilience after Sandy.”

Now more than ever, Red Hook has reason to celebrate their neighborhood!  They have been through the ringer with Hurricane Sandy this year, and their rebuilding efforts have amazed the nation.  This is a festival to celebrate their progress and bring awareness to the areas in their neighborhood that still need some TLC.

The event features world class music, dance and fun activities for all ages- like free kayak rides in New York Harbor courtesy of the Red Hook Boaters!   On Saturday, June 1st, the parade around the ‘hood that was hit hardest’ kicks off at 10am.  Neighbors, organizations and businesses are encouraged to participate!  Following the parade, catch musical guests Brown Rice Family, winner of WNYC’s Battle of the Boroughs, Gangstagrass, Emmy-nominated musicians behind the theme song for FX’s Justified, and three different professional dance troupes!  For more information on Red Hook Fest, visit their website- http://www.redhookfest.com/
